Gotta share this story from a friend, that made me laugh.

Weird WTF “Chesterton fence” local history is always fun.

A friend’s family in VT got a permit for a garden shed. The entire town council ceremoniously drove past their house, opened their car doors, stuck a toe out on their driveway, and drove on.

Due to some misfortune in the 1860s, town ordinance bans any land use changes if the members of the city council have not “set foot” on the land in question prior to approval.

I love that they haven’t changed this ordinance.
