Live musical performances you are seeing

May be going to see Hozier. Anyone seen him live?

I’m off to Nashvegas this morning.

I am thinking about heading to Nashville for a few days (not a weeked either) to see some of the Singer Songwriters that I used to follow. Plus, I dated a woman there that has been texting me lately.

I decided not to stay the weekend either this time. Leaving Saturday AM.

A Ravel piano concerto and Faure’s Requiem. Older son is part of the choir. coworker is also, as well as a trivia pal.

Got a cheaper seat up close. Eye level was about a foot above the stage, so i saw lots of shoes. Only the pianist had straps with no hose/socks. rest of shoes were boring.

JFC Marcia Ball is beyond talented. I’ve seen her before but in a festival style venue. Watching her play the piano up close is incredible.

She’s great. I didn’t realize she was still touring. That made me google: she is 74.

Taylor Swift has added a bunch of Canadian dates for late 2024 including three nights in Vancouver. I (along with others) have applied for the Ticketmaster code for the right to get tickets for my Swiftie oldest daughter and granddaughter.

As a male, I have no interest in Taylor Swift’s music and apparently she doesn’t care if males are fans, according to recent New York Times article on her.

Boogie Long opened for Gregg Wright tonight at a local spot. I sat about 5 feet from the stage. An absolutely phenomenal show.

Looks like I missed one. I saw Alejandro Escovedo 2 days(?) after the Marcia Ball show.

I wasn’t particularly familiar with his career despite him being in Austin for years. That was a unique show. Crazy range of musical styles.

Decent concert. He has an amazing voice and a pretty good collection of songs. But was not as fun as Vance Joy or the Lumineers, who I consider similar artists I’ve seen recently.

Going to see Kevn Kinney, former Drivin N Cryin frontman, in a tiny venue tonight.

Forgot about this thread. Going to see Jason Isbell next week here in Lawrence. My wife got me tickets for Christmas, woohoo! The venue seats about 700 and has pretty nice acoustics, so I bet it’ll be a very nice night.

I also just saw that Waxahatchee is kicking off her tour in Kansas City in April, that’s really tempting.

I wound up getting front row balcony seats for Waxahatchee. AND Dwight Yoakam is coming to Topeka in April, got fourth row seats for that, not bad. I saw Dwight in Denver… 2016 maybe… he puts on a really great show.

I’m going to see Eric Lindell a week from today in the same tiny venue I went to last week.

I haven’t seen him live before. I submitted him in the AO BotB one time, and I think he won that week for me IIRC.

Eric Lindell was great

Saw a beautiful performance of music by composer Eric Whitacre. Most of the audience members learned the different choral parts and treated us to an immersive performance.
