It was freaking horrible when we had the giant jack hammer truck there every weekday. I literally wore noise cancelling headphones in my house all day, for weeks. None of my neighbors are into excessive leaf-blowing, and none of their lawn mowers is loud enough to really bother me. So it’s okay now.
=snort!=
Yeah, those things can be quite… nosy.
Huh, i thought I’d fixed that swypo. Oh well.
Fixed for Snot Rockets!!
I think ~8 houses is about the max that will hear anything with their windows closed. Also, all the master bedrooms in the houses are either on the back of the house for those across the street, and on the far side of the house for the two nearest houses on my side of the street, so my lawnmower should barely be noticed.
I guess snot
A Kleenex will do the trick.
Yeah, I’m getting mileage out of this.
Were they building a bomb shelter?
I do this some days.
I haven’t had a project go on that long in the neighborhood, but living in a place with lots of old homes, it seems there are always roofing crews, arborists cutting trees, etc. Next month it’ll be me getting a new porch built, that will be noisy.
For a second there, I thought this read “nose-cancelling.”
No, but the builder initially thought he was selling it to a guy with a car collection, and made a huge double-depth garage under the house, in granite ledge.
They ended up selling to a couple with two ordinary cars, who filled in the giant unfinished hike under their house. So it was mostly a colossal waste of effort.
allowed? 7am in my town.
what feels too early depends on how tired I am and who else needs the sleep. I’d prefer 8am myself, but…i don’t make the rules.
Sun’s up before 7 here now. Sunrise is before 6:30am here for all of June. That’s way to early for power equipment IMO.
Why no poll?

8 am sunday/7 am other days is local ordinance. Most neighbors use pros to do their lawns. One company liked to push the boundaries, i suppose to maximize revenue. I went out once to remind them that 6:45 was against the law and there hasn’t been a problem since. I use all electric equipment in part to reduce my noise production.
