“The Last Samurai” Netflix (or HBOMax).
Alright. A bit long.
I keep singing, “That’s the way of the platypuuuuuuuus!”
Lots of Tom Cruise movies available on several streaming services, probably due to his extremely polarizing-reviewed movie coming out tomorrow.
New movie takes a Les Grossman persona for a spin as an oilman ruining the world.
I watched a couple of those Tom Cruise movies on HBO as well. The Firm was enjoyable enough. War of the Worlds not so much.
Anastasia last night. Always a good one.
Watching The Substance for the first time now.
Well. Uhh. That happened.
The Muppets Most Wanted.
My youngest granddaughter watches some or all of this movie almost every day. It is excellent. I always join her for the Gulag parts as I love Tina Fey.
Tried to watch Dune via Prime rental. I didn’t finish it
Blade Runner (Original)
Blade Runner 2049
Didn;t like either of them
Watched 9 to 5 on Disney and then Big Business started playing right after. Have never heard of this one before, but it’s cute.
Heart of the Beast -
brought Hip_tiger_wife to sob on my shoulder.
“A View to a Kill” – final Roger Moore. He can barely walk, yet “he” can appear to beat up several men at once then have sex afterward!
Bond films back on, … um… Prime?
Also, you’d think a psychopath like Walken’s character would rationalize the use of hydrogen in his blimp, so it would blow up. Instead, very anti-climatic. Sure, Grace Jones gets blown to bits.
Next up, the Timothy Dalton attempts.
Mrs. VA and I watched this and really enjoyed it.
I’m curious as to what about it that made you not want to finish it?
I was very bored with it.
Matchbox The Movie on Apple. John Cena as a CIA operative accused of stealing a nuke. He get the help of his childhood friends who called themselves the Matchbox gang. Cena is getting a little old for these action roles, at least base don how he looked in this one. OK action flick, nice to see Jessica Biel again.
Sense & Sensibility at the theater. Quite possibly the most boring movie I’ve ever seen. You know going in Jane Austen material will not be exciting, but you at least hope for interesting. Not this time. Read the book instead.
My first thought - don’t tell me they remade this movie…again. I will certainly pass. I liked the 1995 version.
Great cast, IMO. Trelawny, Umbridge, Snape, Pomfrey, … House, Rose, The PM,…
Sergeants 3 - last flick with the whole Rat Pack (Sinatra-Martin-Lawford-Davis-Bishop)
The Seventh Seal (1957)
Highly acclaimed Bergman film that mostly lives up to the hype. Plenty of groundbreaking elements, mostly gorgeous black-and-white cinematography and a pretty solid cast. Of course the death guy is iconic. I might check out some more of Bergman’s stuff.
I recommend Wild Strawberries next, from the same year. It’s one of my top 100 movies, and is fairly straightforward and understandable for a Bergman movie. This will help you get used to his style. Many of his other great films are more psychological in nature.
