It’s no big deal that kids are getting dumber because eventually employers will notice that they can’t find skilled workers and then they will back political candidates at the state and local levels that will enact better policies to educate the children.
Or, people looking for jobs will realize that they do not have the right skills and then they will go seek out ways to acquire those skills so they can get better jobs. If they don’t, my conclusion is maybe they just didn’t like money that much anyway.
I had a good laugh when I was working for an oil company. They were having a hard time finding people with training for a particular specialty, they decided to create a a new role, where people would spend their first two years in training half time for that specialty. What they found was that after two years, other companies poached those who had been trained. So they stopped the program.
