This is absolutely true, but I imagine that there are probably some innocent Palestinian civilians ready to take their chances if there was somewhere they could go.
Thatâs a terrible way to word âI disagree with what you say because it undermines everything I want to believe.â
But, itâs your reality you want to live in. When you want to (re)join everyone else, weâre always here.
And this response is EXACTLY why I put it that way.
Ignores every point I made. Engages in no relevant discussion. Simply says Iâm right, youâre wrong, the end.
You are ignore the historical failure of nearly every refugee camp, like ever.
And you are ignore the Israeli position that has never been kind to returning Palestine folk.
But sure if you want to build your argument on a sand castle with the tide coming in, go for it.
Remember that Israel chose to withdraw from Gaza on their own. They didnât want it.
Try reading all the way down.
See #4 from earlier.
There were lots of refugee camps in Europe after WW2.
So youâre way better plan is asking everyone to get in line, check their weapons at the door, and just kill the people that didnât leave because you can then assume they are all terrorists with the guns?
Right? i donât know why we donât disband the NSA and just go (back) to the honor system, since it sounds like itâs completely foolproof.
This is what a realistic politician looks like.
Israel apparently killed an American participating in a protest. The US reportedly isnât asking for an independent investigation.
I read the article. Id like to think there were extenuating circumstances, but nothing in the article mentions anything. Protesting, shot in the head.
Itâs a war zone, people get shot. But this looks like a random execution. No credible threat, not in an active shooting area, justâŚexecuted because they could.
Israel has long lost any moral authority they may have had.
Is West Bank a war zone?
Iâm not sure it was a war zone.
Fair enough. Either way, this is beyond no justification.
Actually, the article does say something. It says that there were people throwing rocks at IDF soldiers, and the shots were fired in response to that.
Also, the guy quoted in the article, Mr. Pollak, said that there had been clashes between protestors and soldiers.
I just donât get why they urge an investigation into the death of a US citizen now, but when another US citizen was murdered in cold blood last week by Hamas, they didnât care as much. There are still Americans being held hostage by Hamas. Where is the investigation? Where is the pressure on Hamas and other Palestinian groups to release them?
As for BBC reporting, read this. A study has shown that there is huge anti-Israel bias in the BBCâs reporting.
If you canât get through the paywall, hereâs a link to another article about it, but be warned, itâs Fox.
Who is âtheyâ in this statement? I think everyone should care a lot about both murders. Maybe âtheyâ donât feel there is really any leverage with Hamas because those people are genocidal maniacs, but the Israelis are somehow more reasonable or susceptible to being shamed into doing the right thing?
The US is also selling arms to IsraelâŚ
What needs to be investigated about that death? Everyone, including Hamas, agrees on who killed them (Hamas) and why (to prevent rescue). The only conceivable question to investigate is why the IDF didnât expect that to happen, because it was the obvious result. Still, not a politically prudent investigation for anyone to push for, except for the victimsâ families.
In contrast, in this case the who seems clear (IDF sniper) but the why does not. So an independent investigation could have value.
Pointing out the IDF basically executed an innocent protester does not make the BBC biased. The BBC always bends over backwards to be as politically neutral as possible in pretty much everything they do because of the politics back in the UK and their public funding.
So just stop trying to go down that road because that is just plain absurd. Its become obvious to just about everybody at this point that the IDF are not the good guys anymore. They are just killing innocent people because they can.
Quite frankly, I really do the hope the ICC issues those arrest warrants for Bibi and Galant, as they are the ones ultimately responsible for this kind of completely dysfunctional behavior from the IDF.
