If I had a limo driver, which exist now and are legal, I could do all that as well.
see I knew we werenât too dissimilar
Now that I wouldnât do. I can hold onto a basic McDonaldâs cheeseburger with the same hand Iâm shifting with. Fries and shake are ingested in between shifting gears.
Oh yeah, next time Iâm in your area (east coast somewhere), weâll grab a beer! My treat!
(But not takeout food to eat in the car while driving.)
Heck, I make sure I CAN steer with my thighs while test driving cars!
Iâll buy the beers, you do the driving
Iâll see if my buddy still has his Datsun 1600, with a stick. He might be over his mid-life crisis by now.
Youâre not the boss of me!!!
So, you got yerself all burgered up , but not even a 6 pack of chicken nuggets for Echo???
@Echo: bark twice if you need someone to call the ASPCAâŚ
Youâre in my area now (west coast), whereâs my beer?
But I donât drink beer. Iâll take a shot.
Maybe a joint.
San Diego is hosting a bunch of actuarials later this year. Just sayinââŚ
I think itâs Starbucks who do puppachinnos
And no mention of a puppachino either. Tsk, tsk, I am disappoint.
@Echo: the next time Daddy is going poop, run into the bathroom and drop a ball at his feet for playtime!!!
Huh? No.
Driving a manual transmission doesnât just require extra attention during the two seconds that youâre changing gears. Youâre also paying more attention the rest of the time as your brain listens to the sound of the engine and gauges how close you are to needing to shift.
But you can do that part at the same time as youâre eating French fries.
For that matter you can also do it while youâre driving an automatic transmission. But if you do, it will piss you off when the car inevitably shifts at a different point than you deem appropriate. So itâs generally better for your sanity if you donât.
Yeah, itâs easiest to eat the burger on the highway at full speed so you donât have to shift. This isnât strictly necessary, but itâs certainly easier.
If by McDonalds you mean Wendyâs, and by same you mean different⌠then this.
Burger goes in the fingers of left hand (assuming North American car) while the palm rests on the steering wheel during shifting or getting fries / drink.
This is definitely not where I expected this thread to go.
But, I will be back mid-August with an update on the next release of the CPI to try to derail the thread.
Sorry!
Burger goes between thumb and index (possibly 3rd finger too) of right hand while curling the 4th and 5th fingers around the gear shift. You canât eat anything gloopy that will leak out of the bun while eating this way. Itâs rare my left hand leaves the steering wheel.
Mod should change the thread title at this point.
