Iranian protests/revolution

Looping back to something I shared at the start of our Glorious Geezer’s special military operation:

tl;dr: Transmitter site seems to have been in Germany, near a couple of US military bases, and it was subject to jamming consistent with how Iran has previously jammed US shortwave broadcasts into Iran. Draw your own conclusions.

American negotiators get to spend their weekend at home.

Market is still under-pricing this risk.

Meanwhile Iran is offering to open the Strait and it seems like the US is likely to refuse.

Makes you wonder who the bad guy is here. The countries that started bombing the other country while negotiations were still ongoing and are currently destroying people’s property in Lebanon or the one offering to open the Strait and fix this oil crisis.

I do not wonder.

Porque no los dos?

Or they’re both bad - don’t forget that Iran also started attacking other nations that weren’t involved with the war, and has been attacking civilians, both at home and in other countries.

plus the whole “no nuclear program” thing that Iran doesn’t seem to grasp

Countries that the US was in many cases operating out of.

He’s right of course. Its time for the UK to move away from the US and towards the European orbit.

The US and the (increasingly) pariah country of Israel will eventually reach a paralysis due to rising levels of internal political extremism, so the UK really does not want to be near those two entities in the future which provide little to no value add (as the Iran conflict and the tariff moves have proved).

Hungary has also proved that a country can indeed fix itself due to the presence of authoritarian politicians and polarised electorate, but it will probably take decades.

I usually have no interest in what King Charles says but will be interested in his speech to Congress this pm. He needs to send a message to Trump without offending him unduly. That is a tight rope act.

Pablum chucky won’t be doing either of those lol. No messages sent, no offence. I predict the most boring speech with absolutely no substance, ever.

i predict you rounded up. the next interesting thing he does will be noteworthy. his entire existence is apologizing that his mother died so early and now dodging questions about his brother or sons.

Chuck actually did a good job. He sent many messages but most may have been too subtle for Trump to realize he was being critical.

This is what will ultimately sink Trump and his cronies.

It’s not inconceivable that they’ll get prices to come down (perhaps even by suspending taxes for a few months) at the end of August, and sell the development as a big win.

The swing voters have short memories.

In canada, the pm cut federal taxes on gas. Smrt.

In the UK, the Iranian ambassador was summoned. There were posts on social media calling for people living in the UK to volunteer to serve as martyrs
