Iranian protests/revolution

Its kind of both things at the same time now.

The fuel protests have caused people to panic and try to get more fuel (over and above normal demand). So this panic-buying is causing long lines and shortages on its own.

My son is currently in Tasmania and was pleasantly surprised by the free transit.

Its the right way to deal with a supply shock like this one.

Reduces reliance on refined gasoline so you can use that reduced demand to meet the supply shock.

This has basically been all theater given that they sent Tweedledee (Kushner) and Tweedledum (Witkoff). Their demands were laughable, which when combined with the Iranian maximalist positions made diplomacy a non-starter.

I suspect this was all a smokescreen to restock the drained interceptor stocks (they are moving them from all over the world to the ME)

The tide against Israel and its egregious behavior is finally turning.

Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with their egregious (in Gaza) behavior. It’s their lack of cooperation with Trump that is moving the needle.

Sure. Its highlighting to the US (electorate) who the problem is. Same thing is happening in Europe.

And to put it all into perspective:

And now the orange cheeto has decided he wants a blockade of Hormuz.

So his answer to not getting what he wants is to do Iran’s work for them?

TACO.

It’s 4d chess…. They’ve blocked the strait so what if WE block it. Then they’ll be forced to negotiate for its opening. Take that libs

This will surely garner international support for the US…

It is ridiculous that Trump thought this could all be negotiated in a one day fly-in session.

Art of the deal

It made perfect sense. Iran must capitulate to all of the US demands. That should take 5 minutes tops.

Going to hit over $110+/barrel tomorrow.

Volatility aside, real permanent damage is now being done to supply lines. There is no fixing that even if the situation returns to the status quo ante position in the Strait of Hormuz.

It’s ridiculous that it could be negotiated in a day.

It’s not ridiculous that Trump thought it could be lol.

There’s a bigger problem. At some point trump is going to wake up and realize the Iranians are making him look like a fool. His response to that realization is likely to be catastrophic.

Could be any time now if he accidentally watches the news that’s not fox

I suppose Don Jr., Eric, and Barron have outstanding oil futures contracts they’d like to see become more valueable.

Or, perhaps a compromise can be reached by hiring a Trump Organization subsidiary to collect Hormuz tolls for Iran.
