Looks like Iran wants to copy the Chinese model for internet control.
I dunno. That sounds like a small error in the propaganda, in an otherwise very effective crackdown.
I wonder if Trump will respond with more than words if he is executed.
Or extradited?
Build up of force is Venezuela all over again. What’s the US end game here? Whatever happens will likely be bad for the average Iranian.
The situation is quite different in the ME because the vast majority of the Gulf countries have told Trump he cannot use their countries for any attack on Iran. Additionally, Iran can strangle about 20% of global oil shipments, which makes attacking Iran a lot riskier vs Venezuela (there were no major global risks there as Venezuela produces 1% of the oil in the world).
It looks like Trump wants to use the Carrier Group to project power and try to bully Iran with it. Not the optimal strategic decision because it will make Iran turn inwards and start seriously re-arming.
Trump needs to change the news cycle away from his Minneapolis disaster. Expect a US attack on Iran this weekend. Perhaps even overnight (in the coming hours) so the dust can settle by Monday.
A lot depends on where the carrier group is currently located.
they even threw us a few pages of epstein files to avoid the MN shit. that’s how bad it is
A bit surprised that 350,000 people in Toronto protested today against the current Iranian regime.
Also surprised by the large support for Reza Pahlavi.

I wonder if there’s some kind of sampling bias in the demographic makeup in the Iranian diaspora. I would suspect the people who fled Iran in the 70s would be Shah-aligned in a similar way to how overseas Cubans were aligned with Batista.
Yes, I expect they benefited financially from the Shah’s reign and that advantage disappeared when he left.
I don’t however understand why young Iranians support Reza Pahlavi other than they are not aware of how evil his father was or they figure anyone would be an improvement over the current leaders.
I think it’s the latter. Years ago I asked an Iranian about the revolution and he said that at first his family was excited because the Shah was so awful, then they realized they had replaced him with someone equally awful. Young people will only remember the current awful
UK is still blocking them but not surprised at his reaction.
The Iranian leadership has got to go. Now they’re using hospitals as military centers.
Deja vu?

If you think US media is bad, ME media is in another dimension.
Funded by Saudi Arabia via UK.
Stories like this can be planted (using old pictures from previous hospital visits) in order to excuse hitting civilian targets. The ME is copying the Israeli modus operandi.
The US cannot put boots on the ground (as Congress and the public would never allow it) so this entire charade is not really going anywhere. Its being driven by Trump and his usual reality-show theatrics. He is also being egged on by Israel and the usual suspects there (who don’t care about the Iranian people. They just want to damage Iran enough so that they keep some degree of military advantage. The Iranian people are simply collateral damage to them)
Having air superiority won’t win the war on the ground. Never has. Thats why this is likely to end in conflict with no winner (just a lot of dead civilians)
