I wouldn’t be so dismissive.
China has been waging economic war on the US (and others) over the last 20Y.
Trump is responding to this threat in a very stupid way (making the US weaker) but the threat has always been real.
Economic power can be used to damage other countries (as the US is trying to do presently, and what China is aiming for over the next few decades).

The answer is still the US (for now). I will re-assess this once Trump is gone and politics starts reverting back towards the center (if this were to not happen then it would be a serious problem).
Looks like the US is looking to strike.
Its a full UK diplomatic evacuation. If the US does strike, the Iranian regime will start going after the US’ allies on the ground.
Sigh, I really wish we would just stay out of this one.

For those of us who are still working…we really need our employers to recognize our wisdom and the need to share it, freeing us up to comment here more (without sacrificing our current pay and benefits, as it would be a public service).

I thought Pentagon Pizza was a documented phenomenon, rather than a conspiracy theory.
What’s changed is that now there are online tools to make intelligence gathering by non-US agencies easier. 
I don’t think the Iranian regime will be going after anyone if the US hits them.
You seem to forget that they can get a mob to target the British Embassy. This has happened before.
And if the US does strike, the UK Embassy will be targeted by mobs on the ground.

I seem to remember bad things happening when a pro-regime mob targeted the American embassy.
Rationally, maybe they shouldn’t. I don’t view the religious side of the Iranian leadership as being rational.
