I definitely feel way better when I get adequate sleep so have cut down on caffeine and alcohol.
One issue that I have is screen time (due to job and general phone use) which can cause a bit of screen burn sometimes. Going to see if I can cut back on this and add some sleep tracking to get a bit more data.
I had to drive home today. 4th of July traffic is notoriously bad here, so I thought my 1.5 hour drive might turn into 2 - 2.5 hours. Turns out that when you wake up at 4 and can’t get back to sleep, the drive only takes 75 minutes. Rare insomnia win.
That happened for me for the first time in ages the other night. Of course, when you go to bed by 9:30, the result is getting up at 4:30. I think that only happened because I was up around 3:30 the night before.
I take unisom, but I think it only really lasts about 4 hours for me, and I’ll often wake up and have another between 12:30 and 2:00. Doesn’t seem to carry over into any grogginess in the morning, although I do pretty well with antihistamines in general.
I do not sleep well if I work after 7. Doesn’t seem to be a screen time issue as I can post here and use screens otherwise without a problem. I need time to disconnect my mind from the work stuff.
