Maybe some minor racism, how do you know they are Indian and not Pakistani etc. Perhaps this isn’t overtly racist but more like a microaggression?
Might depend on the tone used. We have no info on the tone.
Maybe there was a “And I don’t like it” statement afterward?
Or, “Smells a lot like curry in here today.”
I would say it depends on how he is differentiating between Canadians and Australians.
I believe it is racist because he is making the statement based on the number of people he sees that are brown or wearing more traditionally Indian/Hindu garb and assuming they are all Indian.
Would it be racist if I went into a Costco around me and saw a relatively large number of Hispanics and said, “wow, looks like half of Mexico is here today.”
Also, the fact that you specifically pointed out that it was an “older white guy” also makes it seem more likely that it might have been racist.
If I hear an “older white guy” say that, I’m much more likely to believe it was said because of racist tendencies then innumerate tendencies.
I think it was unusual to see that many south Asians since Vermont is a very white state. However, it is also a blue state and is becoming a more and more appealing place for non-whites to visit in the summer when they are trying to escape the heat of Boston/New Jersey/New York.
On a related note, I used to live in a very white state that was a red state and said to one of my Indian friends that he should visit some time. He asked if it was safe for him to come and I couldn’t guarantee it.
Not really Innumeracy, since I’m sure whoever created it knew it was wrong, but I didn’t know where else to put it.
Seems like a dig at innumerate Texans.
“But I repeat myself.”

I’ve decided @knoath 's older white guy’s statement was hyperbole that we are too literal to understand.
I was going to say sarcasm ala Sheldon of The Big Bang, but it turns out there is a pretty big distinction between hyperbole and sarcasm though they seem the same sort of things literal people don’t pick up on well.
I think we are all plenty clear on the hyperbole part of the statement. It’s the racist (maybe?) part that is being discussed.
I thought it was racist but others were willing to overlook that and say it wasn’t racist but that it was in fact innumeracy. But it obviously wasn’t innumeracy if it was hyperbole. Or maybe I should just leave it.
Gotcha. Yeah - it’s not innumeracy at all.
Perhaps the guy was being racist, I don’t know, I didn’t want to hang around long enough to find out. He said it in a neutral tone (“He did not say - there are too many ---- here”) so I don’t think there’s enough evidence for your claim. I don’t believe that making an observation of the ethnic makeup of a group if they are a minority necessarily qualifies as racism.
I also think that mistaking a foreigner for somebody from a neighboring country while clumsy is not racist. For instance, “there were a whole bunch of French people there” and some of them were Belgian, is just a careless description.
Received today…It’s not quite innumeracy, but I’m not sure what calendar they’re looking at…
T-Mobile: New year, new gear! Get a FREE 5G phone (via 24 mo. bill credits) for each line you add and keep everyone connected.
Let’s throw this onto the TMobile nearly-innumeracy problem.
Tmobile has had data breaches wherein malfeasors have gained access to over 37M customer data accounts.
Now, Tmobile says that it won’t take credit cards for payments anymore. They insist that you pay right from your bank account.
They can’t control my personally identifiable information, but now they want access to my bank account without the arm’s length that I enjoy with my credit card provider. The severity of identity theft is now potentially hundreds of times worse.
I am leaving Tmobile, after 15 years of loyalty.
Holy crap, really?
I don’t think I’ve received such notification, but the plan is in STBX’s name, so perhaps he has. Egads. I hope he didn’t give them access to our joint account, but I suppose that it won’t exist for too much longer, so I only have to hope for no data breaches for a few more months.
110.1?

I would answer C
That average looks to be calculated after they’ve rounded to the nearest degree for Maximum and Minimum (perhaps slight Innumeracy by NOAA to show it at one decimal point when they’ve used rounded individual observations). Interesting that the Departure (from average?) is shown at one decimal point.
