I do not smoke, nor vape. But maybe this could benefit somebody.
I’ve held a tar filled cadaver lung in my hands when I was 9 y/o. Dude, 61 y/o iirc, died of lung cancer from a lifetime of smoking Old Gold Cigarettes. My mother, at the time, was a respiratory therapist & RN. And as gross and illegal as it sounds - I never wanted to smoke. Ewe!
I would quit smoking, but I was born this way.
But on a serious note, both of my dad’s parents died from lung cancer. His father when my dad was 11, and his mother when he was about 30 (I was maybe 6 or 7). It’s not the way you want to go. Plus smoking is disgusting.
I thought vaping was supposed to be the healthy alternative to smoking
I also never got into smoking, although those cowboys sure do look cool taking a drag!
Anyways should I invest in Phillip Morris or Altria?
Underwriters will charge vapers smoking premiums. So maybe not exactly healthy.
Nobody white collar smokes anymore. Except me, i smoke cigarillos. Love smoking, hate being a smoker. Currently in the middle stages of quitting permanently this time. I gotta be around for my grandaughter.
I bet im the only person on the forum who smokes regularly.
I know that there are some who say, “there’s no studies linking vaping with heath concerns” as a reason to say that vaping isn’t as dangerous as smoking.
But I wonder how many people know what exactly is in those vape fumes . . . last I checked, it had metallic components in it . . . not sure how one can say that having metal in your lungs is not unhealthy.
I know some people who got lung issues from vaping + other lifestyle vices. Big insurance claims too. I am sure vaping is not good for you whatsoever
When I spoke to an underwriter, that was their concern. She said it was basically unstudied substances from offshore countries without stringent regulations. She mentioned they did know there was often a lot of very bad stuff in them.
I smoked as a young man, but quit decades ago. As a smoker, whenever I caught whatever cold bug that was going around I’d usually have it move into my chest and I’d get bronchitis. I don’t think I’ve had bronchitis once since I quit, when it used to be at least an annual affair as a smoker.
Yep, that was my experience as well. Bronchities while I smoked, nothing when I quit. No problems currently but I’m a lighter smoker now and it hasn’t been decades. Either way, in a month or two it won’t be an issue anymore.
