I was flying out of Cleveland yesterday, had an early morning flight. On a Sunday, at 4:30 am, the regular security line was backing up through the entire check-in area.
TSA Pre-check was better, still longer than normal, but not terrible.
I have contactless pre-check, and that was super quick - I was the only one who had it, so I went straight through, no line at all.
With so many credit cards offering free pre-check as a perk, I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t have it.

In a normal workplace, adding poorly-trained, armed goons into a situation would introduce all kinds of liability for you.
But it’s the government. If they shoot somebody, it’s not going to be a lawsuit. It’s more likely that person gets charged for bleeding on government property than for them to get any justice.
Having ICE agents running the TSA checkpoints might reduce lines, as illegals will probably not want to fly at all.
Stereotypical undocumented immigrants already mostly don’t fly (no access to domestic RealID, and their passports would trigger an alert). They’re limited to buses, trains, and private transportation for long distance travel.
Part of the obnoxiousness with recent ICE actions is that they’ve been going after folks who have been going through the mechanisms of due process that every individual is entitled to under the Constitution…and that those mechanisms are so slow and under-resourced as to be extremely broken. Or there have been blanket changes in status made so quickly that the affected folks haven’t had a chance to react or pursue their Constitutionally-protected right of appeal. Such people have documentation that was “good” for travel in the Before Times, and to the extent they have concerns they would have modified their behaviors before today’s change.

and the feeling your actual status is irrelevant to them - you look different, talk funny, give them side eye - they will detain and sort it out later

It’s not uncommon for the basic precheck line to be slower than the default cattle chute…although I still prefer not having to mess with the virtual strip search, bare feet, etc.
(Before PreCheck was introduced, I was sufficiently annoyed by handling at the default cattle chute that I had sworn off flying except when required by work or for family emergency. The day that PreCheck became available as a general “Trusted Traveler” option, I applied for Global Entry to get access to it.)
Meanwhile, tRump is telling the GOP in legislature not to make a deal, so he can keep on complaining that the Dems won’t make a deal.

Critchfield and her team found that 279 people have been accused online by the Trump administration of assaulting federal ICE and Border Patrol agents, and more than half of these people — 64 percent — are American citizens.
Of the 181 American citizens that the Trump administration has accused of attacking federal ICE and Border Patrol officers, close to half have never been charged, and none have been convicted at trial. But the public charges alone have caused them significant harm.

have not seen clips of harassment via whistles. (yet) But I have seen someone post that the unmasked ICE agents at the airport are getting viedo’d and people are using those videos to document who is who.
alternately, if there is no change in the state of things the ICE agents might be yelled to “do something to make the lines go away” by an angry public. bc what the airports do NOT need is any extra idle bodies, esp ones that are paid to be there and to perform no task.
In fairness, they are doing less harm at the airports than they were when trying to arrest people coming in and out of courthouses and churches.

So many of these incidents of citizens allegedly attacking or impeding ICE officers appear to have been completely fabricated.
