I’ve thought this too, but remember, immigrants have much lower rates of gun ownership than non-immigrants. POC are also less likely to get favorable media coverage & legal treatment compared to a white person who fires in self-defense.
But I’m still shocked it hasn’t occurred. “Violent left” indeed.

I don’t see anything in there about an actual consequence.
They were put on paid leave while an “investigation” happens, and one would guess were told to stay out of the public eye until things blow over.

I think we have to be reserved in our judgements of the personal guilt of the ICE agents.
Let’s assume there was a miscommunication in which somebody misheard “I have his gun” for “He has a gun!”
If agents are intentionally put into situations for which they have been poorly trained or prepared the i think that probably mitigates their personal guilt to at least some degree. For all we know, the agents involved feel terrible and traumatized. Or they may have said “Dumb bitch”, “it’s just like call of duty!”, etc.
Looks like some folks are trying to organize a national general strike this Friday.

These aren’t bad, but I have seen other photos of “protest security” where the armed folks had such poor firearm-handling techniques that they were an accident waiting to happen.
I fear that it’s only a matter of time before something happens.
It is interesting that approximately daily school shootings are “the price of freedom”.
Yet, when an ICE officer is scared, it’s "you only need guns if you plan to commit crimes!
Ask yourself though who’s signing up for ICE? I don’t think its passive non violent folks, I think its folks looking forward for a chance to push immigrants around.
One of the qualifications, perhaps.

FWIW, I’m much closer to a 2A type person than a “ban guns” type. And I agree that we should take care to get more information about people involved in an incident before passing personal judgement.
However, in the case of these ICE agents, there is considerable evidence that personal guilt should be laid at these agents’ feet along side their superiors and other CBP leadership. I don’t see any reason why these “agents” should be attired as they are for general operations. More specifically, wearing the masks which only emboldens the more aggressive behaviors we’re seeing. Much like posting anonymously allows one to post rather egregious statements they wouldn’t otherwise say if their identity were known.
And to be clear, these agents are so poorly trained that in effect, they’re not trained. While I believe that these individuals should still face criminal prosecution for their actions. And if found guilty, this fact should be taken into consideration for their sentencing–not something to use to excuse their actions. Not suggesting that you’re saying this, just a clarifying statement for my personal stance.
If “having a holstered concealed carry at a protest” puts an enhanced expectation of conduct on a protester (which keeps being claimed)…
Why would we not put at a minimum the same expectations of conduct on people who are openly carrying weapons and are in a position of authority?
It feels like, “Well, they were poorly trained, so it’s less bad to execute somebody on the street.”
