Ah. Fair. I feel a little naked without mine but deal with it for the 15 minutes I might need it off.
My dad witnessed a co-worker lose a finger when their ring got caught on the back of the truck as they jumped off. From then on he didn’t wear his ring at work.
and Windex. It works. We had to do this with Jaspess I once.
I think it originated while we were hiking on our minimoon. Jaspess expressed a fear of losing or damaging her ring in nature. My ring is tungsten, but it has wood and turquoise inlays, so I have a fear of messing those up.
That’s a situation where silicone rings are popular.

Purchased a heated mattress pad to accompany our heated blanket.
Friends: Very much worth it. Partner steals the blanket, cannot (without great effort) steal the mattress pad under the fitted sheet.
Nice and toasty. This will be a super cozy winter.

I always take my rings of when doing heavy lifting, or working with most machinery. I’m worried about my finger, not the ring.
I stopped wearing the engagement ring… probably during the second pregnancy. That stone sticking out just caught on things. And it wasn’t any especially large stone, but every time i reached into a drawer, it’d go “click”.
Pro tip: if you break your hand, get a bee sting, or anything else that might make your hand swell, take off any rings asap, while you still can. Otherwise the emergency department will probably have to cut them off. I guess you can leave on the silicon ring. 
We’ve had a heated mattress pad for most of our marriage. Best purchase ever.

I’ve bought several with a one-year warranty that all seem to die 367 days after purchase. I replaced the last one with a non-heated variety.
Curious about buying one that lasts.
I’ve 2 heated blankets. Newer one has kept on around 4 years, and I purchased the older one in 2013 but believe it to be from at least the 90s. Possibly the 80s. Still kicking just fine.
Mattress pad remains to be seen, I’d be surprised if it dies quickly though… not like it moves much like a blanket.
But it does bear more weight, maybe that creates tension that could lead to failure? We’ve got a couple of heated blankets… I’d have to ask my wife but I don’t think we’ve had one fail. Never had a heated mattress pad.
I have a nice wool blanket I bought in Cardiff, Wales. It’s beautiful and when I double it over (wife and I have separate his and hers covers on our king size bed) on top of my thin comforter it keeps me plenty warm. We send our thermostat down to 60F after 10pm.
Hmmmm, I hadn’t thought about how much the weight on top of it would matter. I wonder if I’d do better now that I’m no longer sharing a bed with my ex, who … is not small.
Seems like the first heated mattress pad I bought was before he came into the picture though. I don’t precisely recall.
Just speculating that tension on the wires could lead to failure, particularly if there is a joint in there where two or more pieces of wire might meet. I’d hope it’s one continuous loop of wire and the joints would be way up at the top where they’d basically fold off the bed. I dunno.
I forgot to switch back to the regular ring today. 
So I’m wearing the silicone one. I ended up switching down a size since the first one was loose. Good move; it fits better now.
