was at Home Goods getting stuff for my daughters new home and bought myself a new reading lamp for my office.
was a literary themed restaurant and bought a new book for myself for the first time in 20 years (other than emergency airport pick-ups)
I recently saw that type thing used by a grandpa with his fairly young (looked like under 6) grandkids at Disney. He would let them put the wand on the payment place. They loved it.
Bought a new desktop for home . . . current system isn’t capable of running Windows 11 and (security) support for Windows 10 is ending this fall.
I gotta buy one soon, too. Probably a laptop to put in my office instead of the desktop’s current location in the bedroom.

I get a couple books a month it seems. Mostly from thrift shops and flea markets.
Not that I finish them, mind you.
I mostly use the Little Library boxes in my neighborhood - nine within walking distance
We don’t have many of those. And the ones we do have, usually have mostly kids books.
This is arriving today for the outdoor TV.
We lose the ability to rotate it (only about 90 degrees), but I might install it where everyone can see instead. We have a long (wide?) porch between the house and the pool (this is the shorter distasnce). It is currently installed in the middle, and farthest away from the house where people at the table can watch or people on the lounge sofas can watch, but not both peoples at the same time. If I mount it on the long end of the porch, then all can see, though I might need a larger TV (pretty far from the table where we often eat), and an extension cord, or move the electric box (currently mounted behind the current location of the TV). Also, the roof is slightly canted, which would make the TV tilted, so would have to figure that out, too.
Big plus is that no one (i.e., I) will hit their head on the bottom corner of the TV when it is not in use. Maybe I’ll take pics and you folks can opine.

- New coffeemaker: there’s a small crack in between the water reservoir and the spout that lets water splash everywhere.
- New car: current vehicle will be a teenager in August and needs a good $3K-$4K in repairs. That’s a trade-in + down payment right there.
Are you going all bougie and getting the Moccamaster?
I just thought it was really nice he was helping his Starbucks out like that.

Nah, just got a 5-cup version from Canadian Tire for $14.99 + HST, because actuary. If I want to go all hi klass and , I go to sbux or a cafe with an espresso machine.
Unlike some of you high rollers, I don’t have 7-digit wealth and an electric bike.

My celiac son stating that he thinks he keeps getting glutened tipped the scales for me to order a gluten sensor for him today while it’s still on sale for Celiac Awareness Month. I’m still not sure how useful it’ll be in practicality, though.
