I am going to buy this (these) today and reasons why

There are beers with a date and/or raisin flavor. Normally they are VERY high ABV.

Oh no. You said it. There are consequences now. RIP @knoath

My family has a hard time buying gifts for me. I have a tendency to purchase things I want and not want things I didn’t purchase.

My birthday is months from now, so I’ve just explicitly been texting them things. This morning I went through our cabinets and found all cookware where the Teflon was starting to flake, etc.

Birthday ideas:
- 2 quart stock pot
- 7-inch nonstick frying pan
- 11-inch nonstick frying pan
- 1 plastic spatula with slots, 1 solid plastic spatula, just the regular size/shape
- Citrus reamer
- All just reasonable basic brands, OxO or KitchenAid, etc. Don’t need anything fancy but also not no-brand knockoffs.

This year I’m excited to get things I want.

I bought a 12 qt stock pot because I use some big bone such as beef femurs. It’s nice, lightweight and induction stove enabled for $73. The 8 qt I have is not quite big enough so it’s good to have the larger size. A 14.5% increase in each dimension gives the extra 50% (8 to12 qt) so it doesn’t take up too much extra room on the stove top.

Aaaand there are now two RIPs in a single day too! Who’s next?

2nd statement acceptable, 1st statement WRONGITY WRONG WROOOOOOOOOOOONG!!! :face_vomiting: :radioactive: :biohazard:

I will pray for your immortal soul.

I just use soap, which is free, or at least $0 marginal cost because I’d buy soap no matter what.

I am trying to figure out what would be so much better about a shave that I’d be willing to pay $80 a year for, and I got nothing. But my facial hair isn’t very thick.

I bought a $150 Igloo cooler, which is a lot of dough for an Igloo cooler, but it’s one of their higher end roto-molded coolers to compete with the Yeti roto-molded cooler that costs almost $400. My Igloo is probably more cooler than I need, so I cannot decide if I wasted $150 or saved almost $250.

nothing - today is the economic freeze

I was instructed to buy nothing today.

shit like this is stupid. anyone who’s participating in this is just shifting their consumption one day earlier or later. So what’s the big deal anyway?

Except for Small Buz. Yea - Make up your F’n mind!

if it makes a noticible ripple, cool,
if not, no loss

I think it’s the same idea as a general strike. Only really makes an impact if a huge number of people do it. I wasn’t planning on buying anything today anyway, and I’m happy to go along with Weaselette when it doesn’t really impact me.

Small biz too - total boycott here today.

You are now on my shit list Tri. You mother FL….

Eeerrrgggg!

Lol ok. I’m no company’s dream consumer anyway, so they’re not missing out on much.

Especially in winter, I get razor burn and dry skin, and the fancy stuff doesn’t dry my skin as much. Shaving is a bit of a ritual for me, I have a badger brush and scuttle, it’s fancy.

Now a $150 cooler, that’s not for me! We do need a new one but we don’t use it often enough to justify $150.

Yeah, my brother loves all things “Yeti” and I swear he owns at least $1000 worth of coolers, cups, and even a really f’ing expensive Yeti folding chair. I was looking at Yeti coolers and I just can’t pull the trigger on a $400 cooler that is $150 cooler and $250 name tag.

The only thing I don’t like on my $149 Igloo from Costco is that it might be a tad big for my needs, as it takes up a lot of car space.
