Hurricane Otis hit the Acapulco area as a Cat 5 storm. The models completely missed both the rapid intensification and the storm track. It went from tropical storm to Cat 5 in about 12 hours. That part of Mexico hasn’t ever been hit by a storm this strong. Given the lack of advance warning I hope casualties are limited.
Yeah this one was interesting for sure. Little consensus on Tammy pathing was annoying the last couple days as well. That one seems to have gotten more direction as of this afternoon though.
