Don’t beat yourself up: you had a promising, new, hopeful option vs a horrible, vile, evil, nasty, disgusting, putrid, nasty, evil, vile, slimy, tax-cheating, puppy-kicking and kitten-drowning option. No one would begrudge you your choice.

Might find them in a bigger grocery store. I ended up ordering them on Amazon.
Used the recipe on the bag. Srsly best snickerdoodle cookies I’ve ever made.

This reminds me of when I was about 10 and was out shopping with my grandma. We stopped at a little boutique and they sold this homemade cinnamon candy corn. It wasn’t too spicy, and it wasn’t overly sweet, it tasted exactly the way cinnamon pine cones smell at the holidays and it was SO good. Haven’t found anything like it since, and I’ve been on the hunt.
Maybe I should look into making my own.

I made these today. Opinion is still pending. One of the drawbacks is that they’re not as soft as I like. Does shortening vs butter make them more crispy or did I screw up and bake them too long? Usually the bottom of the time range is about right.

We’re a soft cookie household.
I’ll take your failures. I like crispy cookies, and i really dislike underbaked baked goods.

I followed the bag and they came out perfectly soft with just the top sugar crispy.
I had some bananas going brown yesterday so I made muffins and added the cinnamon chips to those. Some use chocolate chips but I like these better.
I bet cinnamon chips would also be good in oatmeal cookies.
