Holiday fun: Whamageddon 2021 - Will you survive?

I’ve done well this year. The song started in my mom’s car once, but I caught it pretty quick, and I think it was a cover anyway.

It helps that I have avoided the radio and mostly listened to my own curated playlists.

Maybe I should start walking around with it booming on my phone on repeat, just to make people lose early. :man_tipping_hand:t2:

I got got again in a weird way. I was listening to satellite radio in the car on a channel with no Christmas carols. Sometimes when Sirius XM makes some change to the channel lineup, it resets to the default preview channel. When I started the car after a stop, that default channel was on and playing a snippet of that song.

It’s my kids’ favorite Christmas song. I can’t escape.

Last night, on the drive back from the in-laws’ place to our Airbnb, my wife launched a holiday music playlist she had put together.

You can probably guess what happened.

My son’s Xmas playlist of 50 or so songs was playing Christmas Eve. He warned me that Wham! was in there somewhere. I enjoyed each song waiting for the inevitable.

It’s over, right? I think I survived 2024.

Me, too. I didn’t voluntarily listen to a lot of random christmas songs this year. Wife sometimes had it on.

I lost early and often. (But I also don’t hate the song, just all the covers.)

Got taken out by a taxi driver on my ride home after an extremely delayed flight resulted in my flights being rebooked.

We listen to a lot of Hallmark Channel on Sirius XM at home during the holidays, so I’m gonna enter in two categories: “in general” and “other than at home”

so far so good either way

…out at home yesterday :man_shrugging:t3: still good in the other-than-home category
