I’m thinking of getting one just for the larger screen. There are probably better uses of $500 though…
How much of that $500 is for Trump’s tariffs?
They ended up keeping the console and games at pre-tariff prices and bumped up the price of the (already expensive) accessories. I believe they rerouted a lot of shipments so that most or all consoles coming to the US are from Vietnam.

Doesn’t matter where they come from. It’s where they’re manufactured.
My guess is that there’s a sort of loop hole on where the “where” can be determined. I imagine that in Vietnam that someone is assembling things and that qualifies the product to have that country be the “origin of manufacturing”.

I think “rerouted” was probably the wrong term. I read that around 1/3 of Switch 2’s are built in Vietnam with the plan that most of them would be shipped worldwide Most Nintendo consoles in previous months were shipped to countries other than US, but after the tariff announcements, 90% of Switch 2’s went to US.
