Got a salary market adjustment. I didn’t need it, but it’s nice.
Congrats! I’ll take that beer I guess.
Took an international student (from Taiwan) out turkey hunting yesterday morning.
Them: “Went turkey hunting with Space lobster, was unsuccessful”.
Me: “Went to sit in the bush and smoke cigars for a few hours. Was super-successful.”.
Depends on your goals I guess :).
My son and his friend were at the next farm over and they both got a bird. That was pretty exciting.

A bad day fishing is still better than a good day in the office.
Hopefully, you weren’t overpaid before…
lol. If I was overpaid, I wouldn’t have needed a market adjustment.
I’m still not overpaid, but I’m at least within a respectable difference of the DW Simpson 2021 salary survey now for a life FSA with my experience.
Why not? Is money bad?
I would think if you are overpaid, then a market adjustment would bring your compensation downward.
Alcohol
Got my first game of the season in as an umpire last night. 52 and light mist the whole time. No hard calls, helped a 13yo figure out how not to balk (bc his coach had no idea), and didn’t get hit in the junk or any other strong dings.
I just found out that FX is going to reboot its Justified series, complete with the return of Tim Olyphant and new Elmore Leonard source material.
Maybe Walt Goggins’ character, Boyd, can be sprung from prison.
I may not know a whole lot about a whole lotta things, but I know how to blow sh!t up.
Had good poo this morning, eh?
Not yet, but that’s actually a RNN from Goggins’ Boyd Crowder character in Justified.
I can’t remember for sure, but I think that’s after he eliminated a rival with a cigarette pack of C4.
It will also be on my e-invite to the next 4th of July party I throw. That and the “we’re gonna bang” gif of Emma Stone.
please???

I am enjoying running, biking and swimming again. Like, I am getting the same energy feeling that I had 7 years ago when I was in tri - mode
I’ve been introducing some UWaterloo students to hunting/fishing/camping and general outdoors stuff. We’ve got a trip planned in the next week or so to harvest some wild leeks (ramps), I have a honeyhole locally that’s loaded with them. But looks like I may have a second foraging trip planned. My neighbour was telling me of a spot locally where asparagus grows wild at the side of the road. Since I buy and pickle about 25lbs of this stuff every year, it’ll be way more fun if I can forage for it, get it wild and free, plus take a bunch of excitable university students to do the same thing!
What do you plan to do with the ramps?
