I think she’s saying fall forward and spring back
No.
1st choice: year-round standard time
2nd choice: year-round DST, but wiggle some of the time zone boundaries further east.
3rd choice: change clocks the exact opposite of what we do now. In summer NYC is UTC+5 and in winter NYC is UTC+4 (right now it is the opposite).
4th choice: year-round DST with existing boundaries
5th choice: status quo
The third option means we have more evening sunlight in winter (when we need it) than we do now. It will get dark earlier in the summer than it does now, but still later than in the winter.
Spring Back, Fall Ahead
1st choice: year-round standard time
@twig93 for Supreme Clock Ruler!
Oh, and if we went with option 3, go back to the other dates for switching so that Halloween is part of the winter DST. If we’re going to have to switch clocks, may as well have the kiddos trick or treating during daylight.
Dst doesn’t even make it in my radar. Twice a year my spouse sets all the analog clocks, and I just keep on keeping on. I feel that for most people the change is overblown.
Softball, cricket, and probably some others want a word.
I feel that for most people the change is overblown.
If you deal with other countries its a pita because its done inconsistently…
I run a variety of time zone clocks on my desktop for this very reason.
1st choice: year-round standard time
I see . . . I’m used to seeing _ST = _ Standard Time (and _DT = the equivalent Daylight Saving Time).
I didn’t bother to process that (in the US anyway), there’s no time zone beginning with “D”.
Since we need lots of funny on such a sad morning.
Some nonStarTrek later. Or perhaps I should have said, some that are funny later.
You know you’re posting a lot of repeats, right?
Like… pretty recent repeats in some cases.
You posted the bagpipe one two days ago and the shark one within the last month, I’d guess although I didn’t scroll back to check.
Buccaneer, first draft, and carried away were also very recent repeats.

Sorry. Not intentionally, and I looked some (and rejected some potential posts as a result). Unfortunately, no easy way to search for repeats, and in scrolling up I sometimes overlook them. (Scrolling search is certain to miss if it was in a different thread, but those likely were all in this thread. The different thread problem more likely with SFW/NSFW repeats, or Political Humor/Political Truth repeats.) Complicated by posting multiple images together rather than each individually, because if one at a time I am more likely to remove after posting, whereas with multiples saved on the hard drive, not necessarily contiguously, I may miss removing some and think they haven’t been posted.
And all those had been removed from the hard drive after posting today, even before being told several were repeats.
