Fax is not the greatest technology but it is secure. A lot of companies don’t set up a secure file transfer portal and want you to email documents. Normal email is not secure, nodes along the way can intercept and read your emails.
Not quite true anymore. As long as the endpoint server is secure, emails now get sent encrypted. And any major provider, Gmail, etc does this now. So no longer can nodes along the way look at your emails.
It kind of happened without any real fanfare.i wasn’t aware of this until last year.
