I have a friend from college who is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. A girl even broke up with him once because he was “too nice” (something about not feeling like she could be herself)
Anyway, a group of us took a road trip one summer to Seatle. This was early 2000’s, so there were roaming issues to deal with on phone plans, and he wasn’t careful about that, so when he got his phone bill it was extremely high. He called customer service to see if anything could be done about it, and the rep told him there really wasn’t.
Then he said, “Ok, let’s pretend that I’m really mad right now, yelling and cussing at you. Would there be anything you could do to get me to stop?”
I’m not sure what exactly they did, but I don’t think he ended up paying anything at all that month.
