speak for yourself, I feel fantastic!
My PCR came back negative, so whatever I have it’s probably something else.
Its tough to differentiate Covid now from other respiratory diseases.
When I had jury duty I got a nasty cold and stuffed nose and I also thought “crap it might be covid” (being inside a room with 12 people with no ventilation is a big risk factor)
I have a lot of leftover LFTs so multiple tests later and still negative.
I think what happens now is that many of us have lost partial immunity to many common respiratory pathogens over the last few years. So when you do catch one, your immune system is not primed for the infection so you end up 2x as sick.
It definitely sucks. ![]()
Maybe. My brother in law likely caught COVID Friday before last (and I was with him). He had symptoms that Sunday, never bothered to test. My sister came down with cold like symptoms shortly thereafter, took a test last Tuesday, was positive. BIL also took a test Tuesday, it came back negative. It seems pretty unlikely sister caught COVID from anyone but BIL as she was home Sun/Mon. So for whatever reason, BIL’s illness was both extremely short lived, mild, and tested negative very quickly.
This is one of the reasons I decided to get the RSV vaccine this fall. I haven’t been exposed to it in 3 years, and I’ve probably lost some immunity.
When I was looking at RSV eligibility (with an eye towards possibly getting it this coming weekend), I noticed that the CDC is only recommending it for ages 60+…
Yeah, I’m old.
I’m already feeling better. I’ll check my covid shnahz swab meter tomorrow AM.
Don’t think of it as being “old”. Think of it as being “seasoned”. ![]()
I was paranoid enough to swab myself yesterday (negative) so presumably allergies.
My wife’s going to be doing a COVID test out of an abundance of paranoia before an upcoming round of medical appointments.
Her symptoms are borderline COVID-y, but the timing of their onset make it very unlikely it’s a respiratory bug. (We haven’t been around other people for going on 3 weeks now.)
Negative test on Thursday already (x2)
I still have a semi-violent cough. Still a bunch of crap stuck in my lungs that I have to spit out. When I run, I am sure I loosen up all that gunk.
i always liked that about running - it seemed to loosen the gunk and allow it to be hacked out easier.
Sense of taste is impacted, and I’ve had some digestive distress most of the day, but that could very likely be related to the fact that I ate some pie yesterday after not having any sugar for a month. Although typically when I have sugar-induced stomach issues, it’s shortly after I eat and only a one-time event; this has been going on most of the day.
My kids are both really stuffed up, but feeling pretty much fine. No fever. Foster son has no symptoms, and neither does my husband. I’m hoping at least one of them escapes it entirely.
The docs at the hospital were very concerned about my wife’s recent stroke – she’s way too young to be having a stroke.
Since she has long COVID…they suspect it’s the culprit, although she has all sorts of referrals to eliminate other, more traditional possibilities.
