Fear of Flying

Annie’s brother was talking about staring at the oncoming car’s headlights and just wanted to crash into them.

Ah. I don’t want to drive into the other car. I just think about how easy it would be.

Anyway, i guess i find driving scarier than flying.

I just rechecked the database to see if it would be updated and it looks like that coyote incident got reported:

Several other incidents of planes hitting coyotes have happened since then. I had to navigate to page 2.

Maybe the planes should have a built-in sound system that is designed to go “meep meep” during takeoff. Either that or an Acme coyote repeller.

I think that would attract more coyotes. Dumb ones (suuuuuper geeeeniuses).

I’m very anxious about flying to Halifax tomorrow. I had to use my maiden name to get there, and married name to get back in the U.S. (which was simply annoying). Also, I’m not really done my presentation slides and that’s also not great for anxiety purposes.

Lorazepam is sitting at my pharmacy 45 minutes from where I live. Husband volunteered to go get it for me because I’m anxious and he’s the sweetest human alive. He’s also coming to Halifax, but not until Thursday. Additionally, I still have to book a flight to Little Rock for Monday, also for work.

There is no point to this post other than to tell y’all I’M REALLY @#$%ING ANXIOUS RN.

Wife and daughters have dual citizenship. When they enter the motherland they use their Suomen passi. When they arrive back in USA they use their USA passport, but get questioned about it because the “immigration” (or whatever) officer knows that they didn’t use their USA passport on the way out. It’s never been a problem, afaik, it’s just been a point of clarification.

Thank you. That’s helpful.

I did not fear flying so much this time as I did want the 11 hours of travel to end already. Flying with a UTI that’s been blazing for 6 days was a small cherry on the cake.

Also my husband didn’t make it out to Halifax because his flight was cancelled. And Little Rock got rescheduled.

Kind of a win lose lose win situation.

6 days is a long time to suffer? Do you take meds when you get them? Even the OTC stuff that turns your pee orange is a lifesaver.

Yeah I finished off a whole box while out of town - the real debilitating stuff comes in waves - which is weird for me it’s usually gone by now. Urgent care for me tomorrow methinks.

Oh… what is that stuff? I asked my doctor one time and she had no idea what I was talking about and looked at me like I was making it up.

I didn’t know they made it OTC though. Got an Rx for it maybe 20 years ago. Assume it’s the same stuff… makes your pee look like liquid Cheetos.

The box I have now is called URIcalm but the more common one is called Azo I believe.

It’s phenazopyridine hydrochloride, and when I’ve had a UTI my doctor prescribes it along with an antibiotic, but it’s also available OTC, exact same thing.

I always think of this when I see this thread:

Spoiler: This novel has nothing to do with airplanes.

I never experienced fear of flying but I detest trying to cram myself into those tiny seats and I’m not going to do it anymore.
