Fall 2021 Exam 8 Thread

That was the last “normal” sitting. Fall of 2020 results came out on the second week of February, about 2 months after the window closed in the second week of December. Spring 2021 results came out on the first week of July, two months after the window closed in the first week of May.

Valentine’s Day present imo

Going by these precedents one can assume it will come on New year’s eve, though I doubt the graders would like to spend the Christmas with other graders rather than their family. I guess it will be next year then.

Keep in mind that there were 3 upper levels offered the past 2 sittings. Now they only have 8 and the ACAS exams so it should be a week or two quicker imo

Graders were not exam-specific?

Good point; I would be pleasantly surprised if it came pre-Christmas.

I hope, too, that I would be pleasantly surprised

I was hoping for mid-December which would be 6 weeks out from the end of the exam window. That’s probably too optimistic though. Paper and pencil took around 8 weeks and supposedly the exams being online was going to speed up the process, but you’re right that this hasn’t been the case at all yet.

Yeah, that circular was painful to use. They could include relevant ranges in the actual question while still testing the same concepts. At least that way you can use formulas on them.

But then how will the CAS know that a candidate is able to locate a single number from a list containing hundreds of rows and columns? I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound like a minimally qualified candidate to me.

Grading will take place from late October until early December.

that doesn’t mention that they wait around for weeks after the exams are graded prior to releasing scores.

I mean, when i was preparing for the NCCI question I used the physical study kit and given how small the fonts were, I thought it was helpful the test included it in spreadsheet format.

Mind you, on the study kit, there were pages after pages depending on the loss group and entry ratios. I thought the whole NCCI circular on the exam wasn’t really the big issue here at least to me.

I don’t think these exams aren’t intended to weed out the unqualified. They are intended to stack rank candidates so that the bottom 60-70% can be weeded out. They don’t care about you learning the material per se. They might as well just give us IQ tests for all intents and purposes. Whats important is that the credential remains only for the exclusive few.

You’ve said too much; activate your ex-fil plan.

I’ve taken the Mensa test before and failed. Only scored 97 percentile

have you tried reading the source material?

The source material probably doesn’t have the answers to some of the questions on the exam
