Nancy Mace is generally pretty vile, but I have to admit: when something has individually impacted her life, she can really stay on the topic, and I’m not complaining in this case.

Interestingly, apparently Epstein claimed in a 2007 interview that he had sex with Melania a year before Trump did. Could be some interesting fodder for discussion for Congress.

I would have expected Melania to have been at least 10 years too old for Epstein’s tastes.
While I could believe either, I think the former is more likely than the latter. While she may hate her husband’s infidelity, she is devoted to her son, and bolstering his father’s reputation helps her son.
Donald always creates his own media distractions, why would Melania suddenly try to bail him out? Especially with a story equally as bad as Iran?

Its also possible she was contacted about a story on the files to get her response and she is trying to get ahead of the media storm.

Maybe it’s just the story that she slept with epstein. She doesn’t want it to humiliate her. And she cares about that, and defending herself, most of all.
I do not disagree with that assessment as being part of her concerns (and reasons for doing this), but I can’t imagine that giving that message specifically from the White House isn’t working for some political leverage/advantage/damage-control ends.
I imagine that there are some staffers who are trying to get Trump to be far more diplomatic about the Iran situation and aren’t getting his attention. This, IMO, could very well be doing just that.
