They are hideous, and the early reports I’m seeing on Reddit (and I know there is bias, as people love to complain online) indicate the build quality is crap. I’ve owned a Tesla for several years, I’m not a Tesla hater - although the thing at the inauguration… not likely to buy a second one.
It’s odd… Musk built this product with HUGE left wing appeal, and is destroying his customer base by going all right-wing MAGA. Does he not understand that MAGA folk hate EV?
Then who is buying those ugly trucks?
I was with a MAGA all weekend long who was collecting cans for recycling. Maybe “The California MAGA” is a slightly different species.
My neighbor with the Cyber Truck always in their driveway had a gigantic Harris banner on the front of their house until shortly after the election. Like maybe 10 ft wide & 3 ft high.
I get cozying up to Trump, try to get govt funding for his other projects. I feel like there was a way to do that without alienating his Tesla customer base. I’m guessing on balance he believes any losses on the Tesla side will be outweighed by the other gains.
I think he is going way beyond cozying up to Trump here. He’s trying to get influence in Europe too. His embrace of the Nazis in Germany should eventually kill all his companies, but we are in the worst timeline so we will see how it plays out.
Sure, I mean call me crazy but one thing would be to, you know, NOT make an actual Nazi salute at a televised event. I mean, plenty of Trump supporters do not do that. Even Trump doesn’t do that. (Trump has close Jewish family members.) That would be one way to avoid pissing off your customers & potential customers while still cozying up to Trump. Just an idea.
Bump:
There is some guy in Mass. claiming that his feels are being hurt by all the negative comments about his gold-plated CyberTruck. Can’t drive it anymore. Wife refuses to drive it, Tesla won’t take it back, etc.
Boo-fucking-hoo.
I can’t read the link, though. Simply nothing shows up though it is in my GoogleNews feed.
I disagree with the sticker, let alone other people who’ve had their cars spray-painted with swastikas.
However, you’ve been allowed to resell your Swasticar to third parties for a while now. Anybody willingly driving a Nazi car shouldn’t be shocked to have people react negatively. It’s not like you can’t afford to resell it for $85k instead of $100k and get a cheaper vehicle. You’re choosing to drive a Swasticar.
I did something similar with recordings: I bought very few albums due to their weight and erosion. Started buying back issues of CDs when they came out instead. Now, I can put my CDs onto an iPod Touch (I still prefer wired sound to wireless) for free.
Thing is, I’d rather have a lighter battery than a maximum power/range battery in my car.
