Ducks

About a week ago we found a duck nesting in our front garden. The next day it got killed by a predator.

My son built an incubator to hatch the remaining 7 eggs.

You can tell that they’re viable by ‘candling’; shining a light through the egg. Here you can see the embryo beating:

They’re mallards. A common type of wild duck around here.
Nice ducks!

That was my sons gf. You have to turn the eggs twice a day, so that’s an easy way to keep track.

Have you named them yet?

I figure it’s like parents of multiple birth offspring - putting different colored pony tails in their hair to be able to tell them apart.

I suggest
Duck #1
Duck #2
Duck #3
Duck #4
Duck #5
Duck #6

Business venture idea: For a small fee, one can sponsor one of your ducks and in return we get to name said duck.
