Prednisone Rx cleared up the puking for now. 2 pills a day, one at each bfast and dinner. I start to ween him off of it this week (down to 1 pill a day).
Right before Thanksgiving, Mrs. VA and I adopted a new dog.
A (nearly) 7-year old boxer.
Named Zero.
So, must be that you are a computer science major and this is your first dog?
Nope. Third one for my family (although I grew up with dogs as a kid).
We adopted him from a local no-kill shelter . . . and he came with that name.

The vet officially declared my dog overweight. She weighs 20 pounds more than when I got her.
I think the word you want is “Rubenesque”.
@Echo : V-E-T-s, what do they know??? ![]()
Zaftig is also a good word.
I think the dog has the hiccups. Not sure if I’ve seen thst before
My dog weighs about 75lb more than when I got her. She recently weighed in at 85. Vet said her weight is great.
Mine was about 2 years old when I got her. She was underweight then, though.
making lunch today at home, dropped a bag of parmesan cheese on the ground. I got a good fistful and a half before the doggo moved in to finish the cleanup.
Follow up. Visiting with some strangers who mentioned that the name might’ve come from The Nightmare Before Christmas (the ghost dog was named “Zero”).
The dog is very anxious due to a current thunderstorm. Unfortunately for her, there’s a chance for thunderstorms every day for the next week plus. We need the rain, but she’s having a hard time.
Does a Thundershirt help?
It helps a little. Takes the panic from maybe level 9 to level 7.
Poor puppers. My dog hides in the bathroom during thunderstorms.
She does try to do that, but I try to close that off. She tries to wedge herself behind the toilet. She’s a big strong dog, so I fear she could damage the water lines to the toilet.
We’ve been having afternoon thunderstorms regularly for weeks. I’ve mentioned before that they terrify the dog. I’ve used the thundershirt and the chews. They help a little bit, but not much.
Decided to try something new, the happy hoodie. Early results are promising. She’s still nervous, but was snoring during some distant thunder just now which is highly unusual.
