DOGE (or: the Elmo Show)

"We further recommend that DOGE members be placed under insider threat monitoring and alerting after their access to payment systems is revoked. Continued access to any payment systems by DOGE members, even ‘read only,’ likely poses the single greatest insider threat risk the Bureau of the Fiscal Service has ever faced.”

Some of this is people waiting for the refreshed Model Y that has begun rolling out. Let’s see how sales go in Feb/Mar. I suspect they will remain pretty low.

I’m really curious which of the guy’s many anti-Indian statements he made given he only disagreed with some of them.

Official Doge X account:

Basic competency is not giving people like this a security clearance.

Seems that Elmo has over-estimated the impact of his Blitzkrieg campaign on civil servants.

He copied his Twitter campaign and was looking at getting 5-10% of people quitting (and taking his dodgy offer)

2.3M = 115k to 230k quitting (5% to 10%)

So far, 65k (c3%) have taken the offer and based on what I am seeing the rest are digging in for a fight. Elmo has out-manouvered himself here by taking all of this to social media, because that has really pissed people off.

We’re not cutting funding for your research. Just your buildings and electricity and things that are needed for research.

I have a sister that works for the VA. She wasn’t going to touch their original weird blanket offer to resign. However the VA did extend regular voluntary early retirement offers this week, and she’s going to take it.

This one is interesting.

Elmo is not stupid, so I always figured he was targeting Govt entities that favoured his own interests.

No conflict of interest between DOGE (managed by Musk) investigating SpaceX (managed by Musk) because Musk isn’t the one fulfilling the contracts. Plus SpaceX is the bestest at fulfilling government contracts.

I like how his son picked his nose and wiped it on the Resolute Desk. Pretty on the nose for this administration.

NYT is trash, but this is an opinion piece by a sitting congresswoman re: DOGE.

Part of the Department of Government Efficiency’s plan to slash spending and personnel is to boost attrition by depressing morale, sources told the Washington Post.

To do that, up to half of the government’s nonmilitary real estate will be liquidated, the report said, resulting in office closures and forcing workers to make longer commutes to comply with President Donald Trump’s return-to-office mandate.

“We’ve heard from them that they want to make the buildings so crappy that people will leave,” a senior official at the General Services Administration, which manages federal property, told the Post. “I think that’s the larger goal here, which is bring everybody back, the buildings are going to suck, their commutes are going to suck.”

The grift has now commenced…

We’ve already seen they blow up pretty well.

I thought EVs were supposed to be evil, and our Dear Leader had promised to save us from that evil Biden’s efforts to force us to use them.
