I saw a story today of a woman arrested for throwing molotov cocktails and spraypainting “Nazi cars” at a Tesla dealership in CO. Federal charges, so I imagine we’ll be hearing more.

This company in GA makes nutrient dense peanut butter to combat malnutrition. He’s waiting to get reimbursed $14m for product already shipped. He’s got another 400,000 cases that were ordered and ready to ship, worth $10M, that got canceled this week. That stuff will likely just get thrown away.
They are gutting the Dept of Education next.

More on the cuts made by DOGE in the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, from a paywalled Statnews article:
“People who work on Medicare drug price negotiations, help Medicare beneficiaries over the phone, analyze lab regulations, and work on data science were all part of the initial terminations…”
“One former CMS employee who was cut worked on identifying fraud within Medicare prescription drug payments — a particularly ironic firing considering Trump and Musk have said they want to root out fraud, waste, and abuse within Medicare and Medicaid.”
There should be no more debate on what their goals are - this is all about enriching themselves further.
With the IGs and staff gone, there is nothing to prevent Trump and Musk from directing federal money into their companies. Can Musk carry on with this for 4 years without it being completely obvious? When do investors pull out when the clock is ticking on how long Trump can be in power.
Trump, Musk, and the GOP are still parroting the waste and fraud line. That’s a joke, but unfortunately a significant chunk of the public is still believing it.

heard a report today (no source other than it was on npr) that new email to employees will demand a weekly “what did you do last week?” every week.
the only thing that is “efficient” for is it efficiently signals to everyone that your bosses are idiots.by bosses I mean the ones requiring this. they are essentially begging everyone to quit.
That is exactly what they want to be doing, I think.

Musk canned 18F, which was a government entity modernizing systems and making the government more efficient.

Musk would set the sale price to the government….
No need for Congress to fund anything anymore. Musk and Trump can unilaterally take funds from anything else and give it to themselves.
These guys have lost their mind.
The Fed is the one that makes the decisions on rates.
Re-arranging the deck chairs to make the numbers look rosier isn’t going to cut the mustard with the Fed. Or the bond market.
