I am not Canadian. In fact I’d argue having a holiday to celebrate Presidents is not particularly American, so clearly I’m just putting my money where my mouth is on that issue

So, Finance decided to change some numbers in the Q4 revenue recognition. But they didn’t bother to tell me (I own the revenue model) or Accounting (who, you know, actually recognizes the revenue).
We found out because we made a presentation for the CFO, who said our numbers were wrong. It seems this was changed ~10 days ago and nobody bothered to say anything. We sent numbers to the auditors and I guess we have to backtrack on that now.
Screw it, I’m calling it a day around 2PM, I can’t do this today.

Woke up this morning to two jobs. 1) figure out a huge problem with software functionality. We’ve spent all week trying to get it to do X, and it does nothing. 2) 2 assignment questions, no idea where to start.
Drinking my coffee and had an epiphany on #1. Sent an email to my programmer “did you forget to set up cron jobs?”. Yes, they did. No cron jobs=all the symptoms we’ve been trying to figure out. Problem solved. Had a look at my assignment, and realized I was just being stupid, the questions were not difficult.
Today went from looking like a long day struggling to fix problems, turns out I’ve got a fairly easy day today just screwing around in Latex. Yay!
