LOL. Mine appear to have been well constructed. Will need a bit of epoxy here and there and I think three lights are cracked, with a good rebuild I think I can get another 111 years out of them.
Most will just stay either open or closed the vast majority of the time. Upstairs spare bedrooms for example, will never be closed by me.

Yeah my blinds stay open constantly unless I happen to be sitting there and there’s a glare, or my in-laws come over and close them for privacy and rile me up
I just got these honeycomb shades for the bedroom.
Very easy to install, and I am not a DIYer. I think the hardest part was removing the old screws.
They work great…though there might be a problem with the fact that I am now sleeping later and later everyday. And will eventually just never wake up.
