A sandwich knife has a wide blade and a serrated edge. The serrated edge is good for cutting through multiple layers of various ingredients sandwiched between two slices of bread. The wide blade (and sometimes rounded tip) allow for easy spreading of various condiments such as mustard or mayo.

I’ve never seen that knife before, either, but it looks like it might be a nicer version of the typical cheap stainless cafeteria knife.
Great post, but you should have tried to work in a honey dipper, too. 
Another item that confuses the eff out of me. But I might still get one cuz they’re so cute.
They are cute, but I’ve thrown away all the ones that I’ve acquired. What a fussy and unneeded utensil!

Yeah, in retrospect, maybe we should have. We did buy a while lot of plates a few years ago for parties, and a friend who had a lot of mismatched flatware wanted to upgrade, and gave us his old stuff. But i like using the matching stuff (that we only have 8 of) for our family meals. I wish I’d been able to find bowls i like at the same time i got the plates.
I am just another prole in the lot.
