Time to review that tax-exempt status, even if the church is supporting the same candidate as me.

Former Harris aide: Biden should resign so she can serve as president (usatoday.com)

More specifically, the following quote of this former aide:

My specific “beef” is that here’s a suggestion that seems to place “personal feelings” above “doing the right thing and leading by example”.

I think Biden stepping down and making Harris the first woman to be President on a blatantly performative level would be terrible.

To be honest it won’t achieve anything really so it is not worth doing. I think it’s just talk to rile up people on the other side.

Agree. I can understand the emotional appeal of a sticking a finger in someone’s eye, I’d be worried the owner of the eye may not be who was intended.

Right. Nixon “presided over his own defeat”. So did Humphrey and Gore.

Add in Dan Quayle and Walter Mondale and Mike Pence who presided over their defeat as VPOTUS candidates, and Nelson Rockefeller presided over the defeat of his boss.

Right… most famous of all. I edited my post.

Special ed teacher in Connecticut is removed from her position after a post-election anti-Trump/anti-Trump-supporters message, supposedly intended to be a private message to someone else on Snapchat, is shared and goes viral on TikTok.

If it was her own personal social media then it’s her freedom of expression. But as a teacher and thus an inherently public figure, she should have known better. (Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should.)

That said, another question is if whoever posted what was allegedly a private communication in public did the digital equivalent of secretly recording a conversation and then publicizing that (and if CT has laws concerning that issue).

Not sure if this is the “right” thread . . . and this isn’t a political person making the statement . . .

But it’s rather concerning, nonetheless.

But kudos for the quick response to address the issue!

I saw that…I wonder if it was somewhat a misinterpretation or fear of what was communicated around this and similar stories:

Eh. Threatening people is a darndest thing. As a Special Ed Teacher, you’d think she’d have more sympathy for Trump voters.

Yeah, that behavior isn’t acceptable. Unless you’re the president and you don’t want to help CA after wild fires. That’s totally legal and totally cool.
