I had to check a map of Syria to finish that.

A short, whimsical anecdote, I will put here because it is loosely puzzle related.

My teenage daughter was working on a crossword puzzle and the clue she couldn’t figure out was “Name brand of rocket powered roller skates” Acme

She was amazed that I instantly knew the answer, and I let her assume that rocket powered roller skates were really once a thing.

We found Gary Johnson’s GoA account.

I’ll hfbb.

The last one is “wrong”, but your answer works better for me!

Thanks! When I saw the “official” answer in other people’s responses, I was like, “Yup, that’s a thing I’ve read before”, but wouldn’t have come up with it on my own.

Oh, good gosh. I’d (obviously) forgotten about that. Lol.

Place an X or O in each empty cell of this grid so that four consecutive X’s or O’s do not appear horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. The solution is unique.

We did this same type of puzzle on 2/8 and 6/9.

In each row, use the left-hand clue to fill in a five-letter word in the unshaded squares from left to right. Then write a letter in the shaded square to make a six-letter word that fits the right-hand clue. If you do it correctly, the shaded squares will spell out a word when read from top to bottom.

We did this same type of puzzle on 2/24 and 6/21.
