Credit where credit's due - Name all the good things Trump did

Yep. These bills shouldn’t be called “stimulus” because we should not be trying to stimulate the economy at the same time that we are shutting businesses down.

They should be called “relief”, because we are trying to keep people afloat while we are shutting down parts of the economy.

The first bill had to be very quick, hence it had to be crude.

I wish the Ds had said from the beginning they wanted to replace the original $600/wk with 50% of prior earnings, when the time ran out on the $600. Give the states a few months warning, those that can’t administer it just lose it until they modify their systems. That’s less crude and more likely to get R support.

Sometime in 2021, we may need an actual “stimulus” to restart the economy. I’m not sure we will. I think there is a lot of pent-up demand and people will do a lot of catch-up spending as soon as they get comfortable with vaccinations.
