This is hilarious… The program he’s ripping on for DEI was started by him in his previous term.

That’s paywalled, but it sounds about right based on your description.
There are some right wing sites claiming a specific trans woman was the helicopter pilot and caused the crash. She’s had to point out that nope, she’s still alive and wasn’t involved.
Isn’t the 737, 757 and 767, along with a host of AirBus planes single aisle? Granted most are of the 2-2 1st Class and 3-3 for the rest of the plane but they only have a single aisle.
737 is single aisle but the 2-2 economy seating rather than 3-3 or 3-4-3 is the reason I like the smaller jets.
I’m fond of the regional jets that have 2-1 seating in business class.
I’m looking forward to my vacation trip, where for the “I want to try to sleep” BOS-KEF flight, I reserved a “1” at the back of a 2-1-2 config business class cabin.
Pretty short flight for much sleep? Every time I fly over KEF, I think it would be nice to do a layover there en route to Europe. However our Business Class fares to KEF are ridiculously high.
737 - yes, but with a 3-3 configuration in economy
757 - yes, but with a 3-3 configuration in economy and no longer being produced
767 - no, this is a wide-bodied aircraft
That said, a 767 is generally 2-3-2, so if the goal is to have a “2” together with your spouse in economy then I think that’d work if you booked your tickets early enough to select those seats.
2-3-2 is nice in that you never have to climb over more than one person / seat that’s not yours to get out. 4/7ths of the seats are aisle seats and the remaining 3/7 are next to an aisle.
It feels vastly less cramped/crowded sitting in 2-2 economy than 3-3 or 2-3.
“Not much sleep” is better than “no sleep”. I don’t sleep well on planes, but I’ll take whatever I can get, so that I’m not entirely a zombie when heading to the hotel.
I’ll also try to nap on the KEF-BER flight, but that’ll be on a 737 with a 2-2 config in Business.
I burned through the last of my big stockpile of miles from my road warrior days in my/my wife’s infamous Hawaii vacation the fall before last. Since I make actuary money, I’m willing to pay to not be stuck in steerage…but at the time I bought the ticket, business class fares on Icelandair were half those of the alternatives.
No stopover in Iceland this trip – when sketching out an itinerary for this trip, given other constraints, it came down to choosing between a day in Iceland, or a day in some city served by Icelandair that’s within a day’s travel of Kiel, Germany. So, I opted for a day in Amsterdam.
For my “bachelor vacation” in 2026, I’ll probably piggyback on to my probably annual business trips to London. Current possibilities for that trip include spending a few days in Iceland, taking the train down to Barcelona, or going up to Svalbard just for the sake of being able to say that I’ve been there.
