For Red Sox players, it would generally be preferred to say he plays for the Sox, is a Sox player or a member of the Sox. It would be acceptable to call him a Red Sock, but this not as widely used. It would be similar to say that someone is a Heat, Magic or Thunder. They are members of those teams.
Not sure the protocols on spoilering, but I think you might need to spoiler that.
Iāve always used White Sock to refer to a single player and I donāt think thatās uncommon here. Any of the other alternatives either are unwieldy or just sound wrong (White Sox).
Although I do admit it looks really weird when written out.
Blurredā¦.although itās unusual for someone to post this late in the day. Do people usually read through the posts before playing?
If youāre just going through unread posts, you can easily see stuff here before playing. And the issue isnāt how late in the day you post, it is how late in the day others read. I can only speak for myself, but itās not uncommon for me to be playing between 11PM and 12.
But also, Iāve already played today.
I was thinking about this more, because Iām sure Iāve never seen this used in any printed media. I think the way I see this gotten around in printed media is to include the position of the player - so, White Sox outfielder.
Yeah, thereās lots of ways around it, of course.

I saw all 4 categories straight away, so then it was just a matter of selecting everything correctly. I probably could have gotten these in any order.
