It seems reasonable at this point to conclude that the UK labour party did organize support for Harris.
What a truly stupid thing for Harris to not stop.
This will hand the election to Trump.

The Trump campaign is saying “election interference”, but from more detailed reporting I read that it was not illegal to send unpaid volunteers.
Optics? Maybe it’ll move a needle. The Trump campaign claims election interference and networks should have their broadcast license revoked because a moderator fact-checked, and I suspect this will get lost in that shit soup of messaging. There’s not a lot of time for a possible fiddly campaign violation to gain steam.
We are having a good laugh over this one from across the pond.
I agree with you, we’re busy watching Trump serve McDonalds fries and listening to audio of him threatening to send the military after elected officials one day and Arnold Palmers junk the next, this is just not exciting enough
The trump campaign claims “election interference” about anything and everything. Maybe this will end up as a “boy who called wolf” situation.
Oh no, person from Country A wants to try to influence election outcomes in Country B.
Slow news day?
I’m just not sure the person who hears everything is election interference, leftist newscasters are election interference, left-aligned PACs, Trump being sued, Trump being convicted, every donation and Taylor Swift and Obama endorsements are election interference…
But then they see headlines with “Labour, UK, Starmer” and they sit up and pay attention.
the Labour Party’s head of operations, posted on the site last week that she was coordinating nearly 100 current and former party officials to campaign in battleground states in the final weeks of the US presidential election

Under the FEC rules, foreign volunteers on US campaigns are permissible, as long as they are just that - volunteers - and are not compensated for their work.
That is exactly what Labour says these operatives were: volunteers. While Patel’s LinkedIn post told those interested in campaigning that “we will sort your housing”, it is being argued that this was imprecise language.
But this is crossing a line by Labour. Good luck to Starmer if Trump gets elected!
As much as Justin Trudeau would love to send hordes of Liberal supporters to campaign for Kamala, he would dare not openly support either US presidential candidate. The potential political consequences are too dire to consider.
Justin and Trump got along about as well as Trudeau Senior did with Nixon.
The article I read said that they do this every election, it’s nothing new, it’s volunteers and not specifically coordinated by the Labour party.
And I got the impression it was actual volunteers, not Kim Yong Un volunteers :).
Doubt if Trump will see it that way if he loses
From what I’ve read elsewhere, some countries will severely punish foreign nationals who involve themselves in their electoral process in any capacity. (See: Mexico) The US seems to be pretty lenient in this regard.
The USA does get involved overseas too.
This is a nothingburger but Trump will be in vengeance mode so its likely the UK will pay a price for this.
The relationship between UK and USA will be reset. This election means so much to a lot of people that don’t get to vote.
Yeah, but that’s to promote democracy / fight off the communists / prop up whoever will let us loot the shit out of the country at the expense of everyone who lives there.
That’s totally different.
My post was about laws affecting individual, non-state actors.
