And that is exactly what happened, subject to appeal.
Crystal Palace should be happy. Better competition for them. It doesnât dismiss Cup win.
Itâs less money and zero chance of Champions league bid the following year.
EFL Championship getting even more Hollywood:
Guessing that the long time fans are less than thrilled with the Hollywood stuff.
Lamine Yamal hosts and watches âThe War of Five Kingsâ:
Then dies the purple death. Allegedly.
Am thinking the fans are ok with the Hollywood stuff for a couple reasons. First, it can generate dollars and exposure. Also, the teams get better sponsors. From what I can tell (could be wrong) Wrexham has United Airlines with estimated value of $5-6M where others are getting $500k-1m or so. Additional sponsors make it easier to buy talent and get the EPL $$$.
Jude Bellingham getting 3 months off. Letâs (well, those RM and ENG fans) hope there is some rest included.
CP not going down without a fight.
They will lose. They had to meet a deadline in March and failed, mainly because they didnât think they had a chance to win the FA Cup.
I think âLyon finished higher in their leagueâ is a shitty condition. CP won a Cup and this Euro League is/was for domestic Cup winners.
On a related note, Eagle football that owns these clubs is allegedly very cash strapped. They did not pay Atlanta for Almada, and have been sanctioned by FIFA. They need to come up with the cash. Theyâve been trying to shop Almada with the Lyon demotion, and Atletico Madrid wants him. However, the deal is complicated since Eagle didnât pay the bill.
FIFPRO getting active. Put here since this involves 100 or so Euro teams mostly (three comps):
Honestly, players should not feel compelled to play in every possible minute of every match on the calendar. Clubs need to maximize long-term return on their investments. Youâd think they could be smart about it. The top clubs have plenty of talent, but the tier below want to be in that top tier now.
And CP still trying to win appeal and their ownership group getting two teams into one competition.
Interesting that the draw for Euro Conference Playoffs is on Aug 4 and this appeal is set for Aug 8, with the first leg played on 8/21.
Perhaps the ownership group can offer a compromise by sending Lyon to the UECL and put CP in their place in the UEL?
I guess every lower-tier club needs a documentary of their season. Birmingham City this time.
Regarding the headline: Well, he questionED this over a year ago.
FIFA is going to be on the hook for many billions.
Meanwhile, below decks:
Sad. Always loved their quirky name.
Theyâll rise again, some butt-rich Hollywood/Sports people will buy it.
FCB should just move their first few home matches to Miami until the Camp is permit-approved.
Barcelona have sizeable financial problems so playing in Miami is also about the $$$.
