Allergic to real evergreens. Always thought I caught a cold before Christmas. We finally got a “permanent” tree. Our older children accused us of “holiday heresy.”
We use a fake tree, I just never wanted the hassle I guess. Here is our little Christmas corner for 2024.
And I don’t think I’ve mentioned it before, I made the little mantle clock there.
Your experience is very different from most of us so not surprising you have a real versus most of us having artificial trees. Economics may also be driving the shift to artificial as real trees have gotten very expensive.
We got tired of trying to find “the perfect tree.”
Also, did not have them growing our farm, cuz we didn’t own a farm.
Uuuuugghhh!
I have to figure out how to take smaller mb pix. Dang it!!!
??
More an issue with my phone camera, i think.
I am so sorry for you.
I have always appreciated my luck in growing up on a farm. If I had flunked out on my actuarial exams I had a fallback career as a farmer. Would have had to get a new wife though as my existing one was a big city girl who would not accept being a farmer’s wife.
Cue the Green Acres memes.
“Darling, I love you, but give me Yonge Street.”
No need. I’ve had a pretty good life.
well Douglas firs were named after his character
had to look that up
Disclaimer: I googled it for the joke.
Yonge Street back in the 70s and 80s was a little… gritty.
I assume Cooke is being sarcastic (because he is a Canadian) but not sure about you.

but not sure about you.
Nope, I’m not sarcastic. I have had a good life, so far.

Yonge Street back in the 70s and 80s was a little… gritty.
Its main claim to fame is it is the longest street in the world.
Toronto has nothing to compare to Fifth Avenue. A mini-version might be Yorkville Avenue which is like Rodeo Drive in Beverley Hills.
