One team will be designated the “Home” team, and, by golly, the other team will be designated the “Away” team. This decision is made by the NFL.
Here’s the wikipedia info: The Chiefs are the designated home team for Super Bowl LIV, because the AFC team is the designated home team in even-numbered years and the NFC team in odd-numbered years. As the designated home team, the Chiefs have elected to wear their standard home red jerseys with white pants.[18] The 49ers will wear their standard white away jerseys with gold pants.
