Yeah, but now those people are actually seeing the show and ratings will drop off quite a bit and quite fast. I suspect he will be back to his normal ratings within a week.

Less than the bump, undoubtedly. But truly, I never used to watch Kimmel. I’m now interested to catch some of his segments in the mornings. Maybe he’ll peel some of my attention from Oliver/Meyers/Colbert. Either way, I’m a little more engaged with late-night shows with how under attack they are.

A 42-year-old Texas man is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade as revenge for the recent assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
“fk their parade, I say we lock and load and pay them back for taking out Charlie Kirk,” Joshua Cole wrote in a September 18 message to a Facebook friend, according to an FBI probable cause affidavit reviewed by The Independent.
“… [C]ome on bro let’s go hunting fairies,” he wrote, the affidavit says.
Cole was arrested by the FBI a day later, telling agents that he “did not believe that the gay pride event should be allowed,” while claiming he didn’t actually intend to gun down parade participants, the affidavit states.

Saw something this morning that said that Robinson’s attorneys might be able to get the DP thrown out by arguing that he was a good enough shot and only made one shot, that no one else was actually endangered and therefore there are no aggravating circumstances to warrant the DP.
Reading through the law with regards to the required aggravating circumstances, they might have a case.
Looking at Utah law, I agree. But they could charge him federally if the assassination is deemed terrorism or a hate crime against Christians, and under federal law, premeditated murder is eligible for the death penalty.
Haven’t the feds been defeated a time or two in court recently from trying to stretch the “terrorism” label too far?
Has there been anything to support the claim that it was hate towards Christians in particular? There’s a pretty huge difference between killing someone who’s a Christian versus killing them because they’re Christian.
And Christians sometimes hate other Christians who are not the same type. For example, Protestants and Catholics in Northern Ireland are both Christians.
