Smullen was an Irish jockey who won the Irish flat racing Champion Jockey title nine times. In a career running from 1992 to 2018 he rode 1,845 winners in Ireland and 47 in Britain. Amongst his biggest successes were riding Harzand to victories in the Epsom Derby and Irish Derby in 2016. He was stable jockey to Dermot Weld from 1999 until 2018. He died September 15 of pancreatic cancer at age 43.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: DEAD!

RBG started as an advocate of gender equality and women's rights in her legal career. She ultimately became an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in 2020. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton and was generally viewed as a moderate judge who was a consensus builder at the time of her nomination. She eventually became part of the liberal wing of the Court as the Court shifted to the right over time. Ginsburg was the second woman to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, after Sandra Day O'Connor. During her tenure, Ginsburg wrote notable majority opinions, including United States v. Virginia (1996), Olmstead v. L.C. (1999), and Friends of the Earth, Inc. v. Laidlaw Environmental Services, Inc. (2000). She became a pop culture icon when she was dubbed Notorious R.B.G. by a law student. She died on September 18 at age 87.

Lee Kerslake: DEAD!

Kerslake was an English musician, best known as the longtime drummer and backing vocalist for the rock band Uriah Heep and for his work with Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Bob Daisley. The three formed the group Blizzard of Ozz in the early 1980s, which soon became Ozzy's solo band. Kerslake and Daisley had a long running feud with Osborne seeking royalties and songwriting credits for their contributions toward Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman albums. Ozzy eventually agreed to grant Kerslake's dying wish to  for Kerslake to receive the platinum album certifications. He died September 19 from cancer at age 73

The Hall of fame pitcher played his entire 16-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career with the New York Yankees. He was a 10-time All-Star and 6-time World Series champion. In 1961, he won both the Cy Young Award and World Series Most Valuable Player Award. Ford led the American League (AL) in wins three times and in earned run average (ERA) twice. He is the Yankees franchise leader in career wins (236), shutouts (45), innings pitched (​3,170 1⁄3), and games started by a pitcher (438; tied with Andy Pettitte). Ford died October 8 at age 91

The soccer start played for England for five years, winning 28 caps and scoring one goal. He played every minute of England's victorious 1966 FIFA World Cup campaign. Stiles spent the majority of his club career for Manchester United, spending eleven years at Old Trafford, winning two League titles and one European Cup. Stiles is one of only three Englishmen, alongside Bobby Charlton and Ian Callaghan, to have won both the World Cup and European Cup. He also had short spells with Middlesbrough and Preston North End. Trebek was a Canadian-American television personality and game show host. He was the host of the syndicated game show Jeopardy! for 36 years from its revival in 1984 until his death in 2020. He also hosted a number of other game shows, including The Wizard of Odds, Double Dare, High Rollers, Battlestars, Classic Concentration, and To Tell the Truth. Trebek died after a long battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer at age 80.
